Recipe #97: Jean's Bread Pudding

1 cup buttered bread, cubed
2 cups hot milk
1 egg
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 tsp salt
1 tbsp butter
1/2 tsp. vanilla


Add bread to milk; let stand until soft.

Beat eggs slightly; add sugar, salt and milk mix; beat until very smooth.

Add butter and vanilla.

Pour into buttered baking dish; oven poach until firm, about 1 hour @ 325F.
